What else can i say? Some of the best tunes from one of the best bands of the 90's. I like Richie Kotzen, but personally i think Paul Gilbert years are the golden years for the band. If you have any doubt about how good Mr.Big was, listen to songs like Take A Walk, Alive And Kickin' and Price You Gotta Pay. You won't find anything better than this. Period. |

You won't find anything better than this ? ! Just kidding, dear MelodicMan. This band had a lot of potential, but they never, never realised to create one great album ! A few decent songs, and that's it ! With the talent they had together they should have created some masterpieces ! They failed big way ! Way overrated and glad they're over and out ! |

C´mon AOR freaky, Mr.Big first two albuns are absolutely classics. And they were one of the few bands able to survive living in the grunge era. Please, don´t be glad they´re over and out cause they´ve played real rock music. You should be glad that craps like Nirvana and Smashin Pumpkins are over and out (thank God!) |

Sorry, MelodicMan, I appreciate your taste, but Mr.Big did and still do nothing for me at all ! A lot of talent, for sure, but not the results on disc. Of course I'm happy that Nirvana and Smashin Pumpkins, Pearl Jam etc. are over, but we have now that rap crap, and these so called new metal and melodic acts (nu-metal and nu-breed I mean !). They are as worse as grunge ! And they are considered as metal, hardrock and melodic rock (even as AOR !). That worries me a lot ! Look at Billboard = CRAP |

Mr. Big peaked with the album 'Lean Into It'. That album actually has alot of great songs. Their first album wasn't to bad for it's time. Thanks to Mr. Big, Eric Martin got more fame and attention than he probably deserved. |

Ok AOR freaky, you're right. Taste is something very personal. I'll always be a huge Mr.Big fan, and respect the fact that you aren't. But i totally agree w/ you about the amount of big crap around us, specially that nu-breed shit, even if some people (you can read melodicrock.com if you want) keep calling it melodic rock... |

Thanks, MelodicMan ! I appreciate it ! I think we should all defend our bands, if it is Mr.Big in your case, or Legs Diamond etc. in my case. We are too hard for each other : in fact, we all love the same kind of music, be it AOR,hardrock, melodic rock, pomp, prog rock or metal, symphonic rock or metal or powerrock ! So we should stand shoulder on shoulder to defend us against that 'false melodic stuff', called nu-breed !!! I'm guilty to ! I prefer one Mr.Big song above all modern records !! |

Now you said it all, AOR freaky!! I was reading your comments about Harem Scarem too, and finally i found someone w/ balls to say that. HS sucks since their 2nd album, and their last is the worst thing i've heard in a long time, specially from a band classified as melodic rock/AOR (they gotta be kiddin us...). BTW, have you heard new Grand Illusion album? I think you gonna love it. |

I'm with AOR Freaky on this one, a band with such potential that delivered so little. Of their 11 albums, 3 were live and 2 were greatest hits (missing is the 'best of the ballads') and the last even half-decent album was 'Hey Man'. Some great tracks ('Green Tinted Sixties Mind' is killer) but never an album I'd rate higher than about 7/10. Still, I'd take Mr.Big over Eric Martin's atrocious & tuneless solo albums, and of course over any nu-breed. |
